Issue: We use Google Mail with Microsoft Outlook and the Marketo Sales Insight Outlook-Add In is not working.   Solution: Open Microsoft Outlook Click on Tools > Options > Email Options > Advanced Email Options. Change the "AutoSave Items In" drop-down from "Drafts" to any other setting. For example, you can use "Sent Folder".   Note 1) This is a solution for an issue found with the Google App that helps connect Gmail and Outlook. 2) Note that although some customers have had success with the above solution, we do not currently support Goggle Mail.  Currently, we officially support Exchange servers only. Issue Lead didn’t fill out the unsubscribe form but the unsubscribed reason states that “Customer complaint received from ISP”   Solution There is an arrangement between an email sender and an Internet Service Providers (ISPs) called a feedback loop. When the lead marks your email as spam, this loop allows the email sender to notify the email sender (Marketo) that they have marked it as spam. Marketo automatically changes the value of the field “unsubscribed” to “True” and the unsubscribed cause as "Customer complaint received from ISP" for the lead. You can learn more about feedback loops in the below document. Feedback Loops (FBL)

Issue Issue Description Person appears to have changed Segment, but there is no activity for that 'Change Segment' recorded in the Activity Log. Segmentation was not recently re-approved, so this would not account for the behavior we are seeing in other circumstances.   Segmentations Not Writing Change Activities However, the record was recently converted from a Lead to a Contact in the CRM.   Solution Issue Resolution Upon Lead conversion to Contact in Salesforce, an "initial" segmentation process for that Contact is computed. During these "initial" segmentation computations, in a manner similar to when a person is initially created in Marketo, no activity is recorded in the record's Activity Log.

No. Marketo only creates new Leads in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Updates to existing contacts are synced to Microsoft Dynamics CRM but we don’t create new contacts directly from Marketo. Account updates are one way - from Microsoft Dynamics CRM to Marketo.

Issue Issue Description Users are unable to reference a static list that is in a shared folder.     Solution Issue Resolution Depending on how you're attempting to reference a static list located in a shared folder, you may be unable to do so. If you are using a 'Member of List' filter you will be able to see the static list. However if you're using the 'Was Added to List' filter or the 'Is Added to List/Is Removed from List' triggers you will not be able to see the same list. The reason for this is because the 'Member of List' filter is only looking at membership of the asset whereas 'Was Added to List' and the 'Is Added to List/Is Removed from List' triggers actually need to look at the activities of records. This would cause problems if the workspace where we are referencing the static list does not have access to the same partitions as the workspace that the static list lives in. So looking at only membership and not these activities makes for a much more consistent experience.

Issue When attempting to import an audience through the Facebook Custom Audience integration an error is received with a variation of the following error text: "error_code": 1870068, "error_summary": "Contains a Disabled Audience", "error_message": "Contains a Disabled Audience: This ad set was paused because it contains at least one audience that was disabled. Disabled audiences were shared by accounts that are no longer active. To fix this issue, remove the affected audiences: <affected_audience_names>" Solution Facebook allows for audiences to be shared across multiple business managers. In the past, if one business manager was disabled after sharing an audience, the remaining mangers would still have access to that shared audience. Facebook made a policy change December 11th, 2018 which has removed the ability to access those shared audiences owned by disabled accounts.       To resolve this error, the disabled account must be reinstated by Facebook or an alternate audience with an active Facebook account must be chosen     Who This Solution Applies To Clients Utilizing Facebook Custom Audiences

Issue Embedded Marketo form not visible in Firefox Private Browsing mode. Solution Firefox's private mode will be enabled by default. When you embed a Marketo form in your own webpages and view it in Firefox's private mode, it will disable the Javascript as part of the tracking protection of this browser. JavaScript is needed for the forms to appear on the landing pages or webpages. The "Tracking Protection" in the Firefox browser will need to be deactivated for the form to appear. Here is an article from FireFox regarding the Tracking Protection: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tracking-protection

Issue Can multiple Marketo forms be used on the same page? Solution Due to the way Marketo forms are embedded on pages, you cannot have two Marketo forms on a single page (landing page or external). Having multiple forms on a single page can prevent the forms from submitting properly.

Issue An email program with "Send in recipient time zone" was scheduled to sent out an email on Jan 8th, 2019 8:00 PM PST but you see that it was sent out to leads on Jan 8th 12:01 AM PST. Solution From the activity logs of the lead, you can observe the following: 1. Send Email activity happened on Jan 8th 12:01 AM PST. This is when Marketo issued the Send request to the server, which held the request until 8:00 PM PST, per the time zone restrictions. 2. Email Delivered happened on Jan 8th 8:00 PM PST. The MTA (message transfer agent) pushed the held emails to the receiving servers. The send email event is an indication that the lead was qualified at 12:01AM but the actual delivery of the email happened at 8:00 PM. So, the send event means the leads were processed and prepared for email delivery. The delivery event is when the email is actually sent and delivered. You will see this behavior when emails are sent with time zone restrictions. For the complete details on Recipient Time-Zone and it's working , please refer to the following Adobe experience league document :-  Schedule Email Programs with Recipient Time Zone

Issue You encounter Validation Errors in the Smart List. Solution If you hover your cursor over the red squiggle in the Smart List, Marketo should pop-up a reason why the error is occurring. A very common reason for Validation Errors when using an "is" logic for a constraint is that the value being used does not exist in the database. In situations where you are uncertain if the exact value exists in the database, try using "contains" for the constraint logic.

Issue You have a Batch Campaign or Email Program setup where the amount of people qualified is more than what's listed under the Smart Campaign Person Restrictions limit (for more context, see Enabling Person Restrictions for Smart Campaigns). Within that same program or campaign, you calculate that between the number of qualified people reduced by how many are blocked from processing puts the total count of records below the Person Restrictions for the instance. Would the campaign or email program still execute and process the appropriate leads that aren't blocked or does Marketo solely look at qualified members to determine if that's more than allowed based on Person Restrictions? Environment Admin Marketing Activities Marketo Scheduling Solution Yes, the campaign will still run as expected. Both Email Programs and Smart Campaigns effectively disqualify non-marketable people before processing records towards the Campaign Processing limit. Example: Your instance is setup to limit campaigns from processing more than 500k records in a given Smart Campaign. If you have 600k qualified for your Smart List (Audience) but 200k of the records are blocked, the campaign will still run as only 400k marketable people qualify to actually get processed through the campaign. Blocked records don't get processed through the campaign execution and, therefore, don't add or contribute to campaign processing limits.

Summary duplicate records with the same email across lead partitions can be affected by uploaded custom object activity Issue System not separating lead partitions for custom object imports Uploading custom object activity affects duplicate records across partitions Custom Object activity import writing to the most recently updated record regardless of partition Solution Use the following workaround:  Run an update on the records that should be affected by the custom object activities import. This will make sure they are the most recently updated records among the duplicates Root Cause Normally when you do a list import, it would import into the one partition, whatever partition the list is located in and only impact the record in that one instance.  But when you import a Custom Object, it's able the see ALL the records across ALL the partitions.  If there are duplicate records, it just looks to see which one was updated most recently and grabs that one for the list import. So if you have lead record in A with Add to Custom Object already completed and you re-import again but the lead record in B has been updated more recently and has NOT had the custom object added to it, you get the duplicate "Add to Custom Object" activity. Environment Multiple lead partitions with duplicate records across them Custom Object activity import
